The SCX-C is a hex socket head cap screw made of 99.5% high-purity alumina ceramic, usable up to about 1500 °C. Being ceramic it is heat- and chemical-resistant and, unlike any metal fastener, electrically insulating. This makes it a unique screw for furnaces, plasma tools and high-voltage assemblies where a socket drive is preferred.
